Position Description

A busy family medicine practice in Maryville, IL is seeking dedicated Nurse Practitioners to join our growing team. The Nurse Practitioner is an essential and interactive position that includes working directly with patients and working with the diagnosis and treatment of care.

Job responsibilities in this position the Nurse Practitioner will primarily perform comprehensive health assessments including obtaining complete health histories, accurate physical examinations and administering treatment plans in collaboration with the practicing Physician. The Nurse Practitioner will also be responsible for initiating treatment for the patient with commonly occurring health problems, which lie within the nurse specialist's scope of practice.

Other specific responsibilities for the Nurse Practitioner will also include:

  • Order/perform selected diagnostic test and procedures as indicated by the patient's condition
  • Prescribes approved medications as outlined by the state regulatory acts
  • Instructing individuals and/or families about health or defined health problems, as well as communicating the plan of care, while maintaining privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and professional environment while performing test, treatments, and procedures
  • Use Electronic Health Records(EHR).

In order to be considered for the Nurse Practitioner position, candidates are required to have a Master degree in Nursing with advanced skills in physical assessment. They must also have a valid license to practice and use the title of Nurse Practitioner within the state. In addition, the NP must also have their current CPR/BCLS certification

Job Requirements

  • Possess advanced certifications as required by clinical practice area/client-
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a caring/professional bedside manner-
  • Prescriptive authority preferred; DEA number.
